Preparation

  • The required specimen depends on the test and clinical condition and may include a genital swab, lesion swab, or urine sample, according to laboratory instructions.

  • For a urine sample, it is generally recommended to avoid urinating for 1–2 hours before sample collection, unless otherwise instructed by the laboratory.
